Tension Headache Symptoms

45 Million American (16.54% of the total population) suffer from headache. But only 8 million of them complain of headache to the doctor. Tension Headache is the most common type of headache. According to an estimation 80-90% people suffer from this type of headache at least once in their life time. Unfortunately the causes behind tension headache are not known.

Symptoms of a Tension Headache: Migraine and tension headache are very similar. That is why, it is difficult to separate the symptoms of tension headache from migraine. Some of the symptoms are:

  • Dullness,
  • Constant aching head pain,
  • Irritation to sound,
  • Irritation to light,
  • Tightness across the forehead,
  • Pressure on the sides and back of the head,
  • Loss of appetite,
  • Tenderness on the scalp, neck and shoulder.

Things to avoid the Symptoms of Tension Headache:

  • Poor posture while sitting
  • Eye Strain
  • Cigarette
  • Alcohol
  • Coffee
  • Cold and Cough
  • Fatigue
